Meet Your Captain

Hi. My name is Mike. I moved to Ketchikan from small town Wisconsin in 2001, and really, I never looked back. I realized the limitless opportunities for adventure and stayed.

Some of my adventures and credentials include:

  • Graduate of National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), an outdoor education school that teaches technical outdoor skills, wilderness medicine and environmental ethics

  • Logged several days kayaking in Prince William Sound, hiking the Talkeetna Mountains and mountaineering glaciers

  • Sailed from Ketchikan to San Francisco, and have participated in many races – most recently the Race to Alaska, a 750-mile course from Port Townsend, WA up the coast to Ketchikan

  • Licensed captain and First Aid certified

If you want to immerse yourself in Alaska’s wilderness by sea, I’m happy to show you the way.

"This was such a unique way to experience Alaska! The boat is so comfortable and spacious. Well kept and clean. There were 3 of us and we all had plenty of room. I'm going back in July to drop crab and shrimp pots this time and do some more fishing! The views from the boat were stunning - spent a lot of time up in the fly bridge viewing the sea and wildlife. The experience should be on everyone’s bucket list ! Thanks SEAK Crew for the fun time and the recommendations of things to see while in town!"
